CotV development update (March 2026)

Development focus has finally shifted from bot AI to improving player gameplay experience. In practice this means new and improved ways to give commands to your ships, new visual indicators etc.

Ok, but what is this game about?

Commanders of the Void is a 2D real-time strategy game (RTS) set in space. You design your own spaceships and assemble a fleet to fight against other players. Ships are manned by your personal crew that stays the same between matches. Your avatar is placed inside the flagship and is the one you have to protect at all costs. You can control each ship and even each crew member individually, also crew members can board enemy ships and fight in close quarters to capture them. You can also play offline against AI opponents.

Your avatar is commanding the flagship of your fleet, on top of that you have dozens of crew members and multiple ships at your disposal.

How to win in CotV? Assemble a fleet of your best designs and kill the enemy commander!
